Blue North Internship Application Details 2022/2023

We are seeking an intern that can join our team and assist with the increasing amount of work we are undertaking in the evaluation field.

The internship is for six months.
The internship will be based in Cape Town
This internship will commence as soon as possible.
The intern will report directly to the head of Blue North’s M&E service
Blue North is a specialist consulting practice focused on supporting farmers and agricultural supply-chains in the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and programmes. Blue North has a dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation service offering, which has a strong focus on interventions and programmes across different sectors in agriculture, rural development and natural resource management.
Blue North is based in Cape Town and Stellenbosch, with a very strong foundation in the agricultural, environmental and rural landscape of the Western Cape, nationally as well as internationally
Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for assisting with the following:
Assisting with the design of data collection tools
Assisting with data collection in the field (e.g. conducting interviews / focus groups)
Data compilation and analysis
Assisting with fieldwork planning logistics
Literature review and assisting with report writing
Administrative assistance
Assist with scanning for potential projects and proposal writing
Requirements:
Be a South African citizen or permanent resident
Hold an Honour’s or Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences Rural development; Development Studies; M&E or related field.
Have an understanding of sustainability
Have an interest in learning more about monitoring and evaluation
Must be analytical and have experience working with quantitative and qualitative data
Proficient in MS Office
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Be a confident self-starter and self-motivated
Must have organisational skills, the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work to meet deadlines
Must have a proven academic track record
No criminal record
Qualifications:
Honour’s or Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences Rural development; Development Studies; M&E or related field.
