University of the Free State is offering a 12 month internship to young unemployed graduates in possession of a completed degree/diploma.The purpose of the internship programme is to offer graduates (diploma/degree) with no relevant work experience the opportunity to obtain practical workplace exposure and experience.
Responsibilities:
– Assist with the activities for marketing the KovsieGear shop.
– Update the KovsieGear catalogue for the UFS web.
– Work in the front office and sell merchandise at KovsieGear.
– Keep the shop tidy and shelves neat.
– Work as a cashier at the point of sales.
– Assist with deliveries to clients on campus.
– Unpack and label new stock and do quality control of merchandise on delivery.
– Perform general office administrative duties, including answering the telephone and taking messages in a professional manner.
– Assist with stocktaking.
– Assist with public events e.g. Graduations and Open-days.
– Attend and participate in staff meetings.
– Assist with financial responsibilities at KovsieGear.
– Assist with accounting duties on Pastel and PeopleSoft required due to operational requirements.
– Assist with systematic filing of all financial documentation in the office.
– Attend self-development initiatives when the opportunity arises.
– Demonstrate honesty in handling cash or finances.
Requirements:
– A completed BCom Accounting or B Accounting or BCom with specialization in Marketing.
– Not currently participating in an existing learnership/internship programme.
– Willing to sign an internship agreement with the UFS.
– Candidate must be available for a period of one (1) year.
