The above mentioned position is available in the Operations department at Robben- Island Museum. Reporting to the Supervisor Information the incumbent will be responsible to Channel all incoming calls, faxes and post to the relevant RIM employee and monitor phone usage.

Duration: 12 Months contract

Stipend: R70 715.00 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Channel incoming calls to the appropriate person or department;
  • Take message and e-mail to the appropriate person;
  • Provide caller with basic information about RIM;
  • Report faulty telephone equipment or switchboard;
  • Provide information and update the on-line staff directory;
  • Consolidate staff’s phone usage in a spreadsheet for managers;
  • Analyse pin code usage and report discrepancies to the appropriate authority;
  • Create speed dials for Managers;
  • Receive, and distribute post;
  • Receive, register and distribute faxes;
  • Direct visitors to relevant offices.

Requirements:

National Diploma in:

  • Tourism
  • Public Relations
  • or Marketing;

Competencies:

  • Computer Literacy;
  • Fluency in 2 official languages;
  • Oral communication;
  • Customer Service Orientation;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Problem solving.
