Kay Mason Foundation Application Details 2024/2025
Since 1999 the Kay Mason Foundation has worked to eliminate barriers to quality education for promising young people from underserved communities in and around the Western Cape. KMF is now offering scholarships to promising young scholars in the Western Cape.
The selection criteria are as follows:
- The scholar must be a South African Citizen
- The scholar is academically talented and achieved an average of 65% or above as well as 65% or above for their First and Second Language as well as in maths and science
- The combined household income is less than R17 500 per month before deductions (Gross income)
- The scholar is in Grade 6 in 2024/2025
- The scholar lives in Cape Town, Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs, Helderberg, and Boland area – Able to travel to Bellville on Saturdays for class
How to Apply
Documents to prepare:
Before completing the application form please ensure that you have your documents scanned and ready to be uploaded. – Missing documents will immediately disqualify the application
(Scan documents from different sections separately e.g. ID on its own, Reports on their own, Birth certificate on its own, etc.)
- Proof of income of all parties earning an income in the home/ both parents if involved in the scholars upbringing (If employed attach – the most recent 3 months’ Salary slip and 3 months’ Bank Statements; If you are self-employed attach 6 months’ Bank Statements)
- Proof of SASSA Grant if applicable
- An affidavit if you are unemployed, stating for how long you have been unemployed and why
- Learners birth certificate
- Parent / Legal Guardian ID Documents
- Grade 5 (Term 4) School report
- Grade 6 (Term 1) School report
- Divorce Decree if applicable
- Death Certificate of a parent if applicable
