EC Dept of Health Learnerships Programme Application Details 2022/2023
Interested applicants can apply for the EC Dept of Health Learnership 2022 provided they qualify and meet the program requirements.
Applications are invited from the unemployed youth within Alfred Ndzo – Maluti Sub district and Joe Gqabi district and qualifying employees (18.1) serving the Eastern Cape Department of Health who are interested in developing or upgrading themselves within Pharmaceutical services to apply for a fourteen (14) months Learner Basic Pharmacist`s Assistant learnership programme scheduled to start in June 2019 as per the following allocated seats:
- Joe Gqabi – 5 learners (18.2)
- Alfred Ndzo – Maluti Sub – district – 20 (18.2)
- Buffalo City Metro including Cecilia Makiwane and Frere Hospital – 4 learners (18.1)
- Nelson Mandela Bay Metro including Dora Nginza Hospital and Livingstone Hospital – 4 learners (18.1)
- Amathole District – 6 learners (18.1)
- Chris Hani District – 6 learners (18.1)
- O. R. Tambo District – 6 learners (18.1)
- Sarah Baartman District – 4 learners (18.1)
N. B. Employees already serving in Pharmacy areas without the relevant qualification will be prioritized for the thirty (30) seats funded by HWSETA.
Admission requirements:
- Certified copy (current and not older than three months) of Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent which reflects Mathematics and English subjects having been passed.
- Certified Copy of Identity document (RSA) – current and not older than three months. (If a South African Identity card is used copies must be for both sides.)
- CV/Personal profile
- Z83 form(Download Here) filled (obtainable from any Public Service Department office or facility.)
- Release letter from supervisors for the employed or serving applicants (18.1).
- Proof of residence as per the catchment area one has applied for.
- A good and outstanding academic performance record during schooling or other forms of training will be an added advantage.
Important Note: All shortlisted candidates will undergo a Pre – assessment to determine their competency level in Mathematics and English.
- All copies must be certified and certification date not to be later than three months old.

- Academic records will be verified.

- Monthly stipend is at R2, 000 per learner.
