About the Academy
African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks to transform Africa by developing thousands of leaders for the continent over the next few decades. Responsibilities will Include:
- High quality professional day-to-day execution of engagements and special projects.
- Assist with claims and follow up on payments and reimbursements with the Academy’s, medical aid service provider, supervised by the nurse.
- Chaperoning students to specialist visits.
- Assist in Health and Wellness Community event planning and execution.
- Assist with department procurement needs.
- Manage counselling booking system and triage students to the counselling team.
- Assist with data collection for the department- identify effective ways to collect, analyze and report on all collected data to the HOD and Deans.
- Facilitate the Health and Wellness Class twice a week, this may include weekends.
- Participate in the designing of the Health and Wellness Curriculum.
- Conduct research for the department on best practices on psychological and medical practices to improve department function.
- Attend bi-weekly supervision meeting with the consulting Psychologist.
- Attend weekly team meetings with the Health and Wellness Department.
Profile of Ideal Candidate
- Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a general understanding of data analysis techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in working with teenagers. Previous experience will be advantageous.
- Ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team as well as acting autonomously as appropriate.
- Pursuing or having attained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or Health Care studies.
Reporting line: This position reports to the Head of the Health Wellness Department
