UNFCCC ACE Hub Youth Event 2026: Apply for Climate Training

Young climate leaders have a new chance to make a real impact. The UNFCCC Action for Climate Empowerment Hub Youth Event 2026 offers training and networking for those aged 18 to 35. This in-person gathering in Bonn, Germany, focuses on youth roles in climate action.

Event Overview

The UNFCCC Action for Climate Empowerment Hub Youth Event 2026 takes place from June 4 to 6. It happens right before the 64th session of the Subsidiary Bodies in Bonn. The German region of North Rhine-Westphalia supports this event through the ACE Hub. The goal is to build skills in education, public awareness, training, and participation in climate efforts. Youth will learn how to connect local actions with global policies.

Attendees join interactive sessions on policymaking, community engagement, and inspiring sustainable habits. An off-campus trip to Düsseldorf shows real city-level climate work. Participants can help form an alumni network to keep the momentum going. The event runs in English with partners for exchange and collaboration.

Who Can Apply

Youth between 18 and 35 years old qualify if they meet key rules. They must speak English well and attend the full three days in person. No one who joined past ACE Hub Youth Events, like those in 2022 to 2025, can apply. Interest or experience in climate education, awareness, participation, or information access is needed. Local work with cities or communities on climate topics helps your case.

For spots in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, you must live there now. The event welcomes diverse backgrounds for a balanced group.

Selection Process

YOUNGO, the youth group for UNFCCC, picks participants. They select 15 from NRW and at least 5 international youth. This includes 2 Indigenous youth or those from local communities. Funding covers these spots. Self-funded youth heading to SB64 can apply too, but they need proof of funds.

Choices aim for fair geography, gender balance, and varied skills. All fields are welcome to build a strong mix.

Funding and Support

The ACE Hub funds travel, a Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) for event days, and more for chosen international and local youth. DSA covers meals, lodging, and extras during June 4 to 6. UNFCCC handles travel bookings based on arrival June 3 and departure June 7. Changes cost extra if you request them.

You handle visas, insurance, and pre-event funds. DSA might come late, so have cash ready. Selected youth interested in the ACE Dialogue 2026 get SB64 badges for some events, but no extra pay.

Programme Logistics

Stay for the full event, as deferrals are not allowed. If you can’t go, reapply later. New participants only. UNFCCC offers visa letters but not help with approvals. Accreditation helps access non-negotiation sessions at SB64.

The event builds tools to take home and scale up in your area. Check the official UNFCCC page for full details and the application form. Deadline is April 10, 2026.
