The management of the St. Joseph University, Tanzania (SJUIT) has released the minimum entry requirements for successful admission into the undergraduate and postgraduate (Degree, PhD, Masters, Diploma, Certificate, Short Course and Non-Degree) programmes respectively for the 2023/2024 academic year.

SJUIT Undergraduate Entry Requirements
ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES, BOKO CAMPUS
1) Doctor Of Medicine
Course Duration : 5 years
Entry Requirements:
1) Three principal passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with minimum entry of 8 points. Whereby one must have at least C grade in Chemistry and Biology and at least D grade in Physics.
2) Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least five (5) passes including two credit passes in chemistry and biology and a D grade in physics PLUS Diploma in clinical medicine with an average of “B+” or GPA of 3.5.
3) OR Bsc (lower second) majoring in physics/mathematics, chemistry, biology/zoology.
SJUIT Certificate Entry Requirements
ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES, BOKO CAMPUS
1) Basic Technician Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Entry Requirements:
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with minimum four (4) D passes in non-religious subjects including “D” passes in Chemistry and Biology
Course Duration : 1 year
2) Technician Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Entry Requirements:
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including “D” passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences.
Course Duration : 2 year
3) Technician Certificate in Nursing
Entry Requirements:
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including “C” passes in Chemistry and Biology; and “D” passes in Physics/Engineering Sciences and English Language, pass in Basic Mathematics is an added advantage.

1) Diploma in Civil Engineering
Entry Requirements:
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form-4) / with minimum of four passes including “D” pass in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry
- ACSE with relevant passes i.e. PCM
- Relevant NVA LEVEL 3 plus CSE with passes in PCM
Course duration: 3 years
2) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Entry Requirements:
- Certificate of Secondary Education (Form-4) / with minimum of four passes including “D” pass in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry
- ACSE with relevant passes i.e. PCM
- Relevant NVA LEVEL 3 plus CSE with passes in PCM

3) Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Entry Requirements:
Applicants must have any of the following:
- Holders of Certificate of secondary education examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including ‘C’ passes in Chemistry and Biology, and “D” pass in Physics/Engineering Sciences; a pass in Mathematics and English will be an added advantage
- Holders of ACSE with A Principal Pass and Subsidiary pass in Chemistry &Biology
- Holders of Technician Certificate in pharmaceutical sciences (NTA Level 5) from recognized institutions or a Pharmaceutical Assistant with at least two years of working experience who has passed entry requirement examination recognized by NACTE.
Course duration: 3 years
2) Diploma in Nursing
Entry Requirements:
Applicants must have any of the following:
- Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with a minimum of four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including “C” passes in Chemistry and Biology; and “D” pass in Physics/ Engineering Sciences; a pass in Mathematics and English will be an added advantage
