SANParks Internship Programme 2026: Apply for Unemployed Graduates

South African National Parks (SANParks) offers a great chance for unemployed graduates through its Internship Programme 2026. This program lets young people gain real work experience in conservation and other fields across 20 national parks that cover 3.7 million hectares of land. If you have a National Diploma and meet the rules, you can apply before the deadline on 22 April 2026.

Internship Overview

The SANParks Internship Programme 2026 lasts 24 months. Interns receive a stipend of R6,335.69 each month. Placements happen at various SANParks offices in South Africa. Keep in mind that completing the program does not guarantee a full-time job.

Fields of Study and Placement Areas

You need a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in a matching field. Here are the main areas:

Tourism and Marketing

Fields include Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Finance, or Accounting.

Wild Card / CRM and Loyalty

Fields include Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.

Socio Economic Transformation – Kruger National Park

Field: Administration.

Socio Economic Transformation – Knysna, George, Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth

Fields: Business Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related.

Communications

Fields: Information Science; Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or Communications; Events Management, Hospitality, or Public Relations.

ICT

Fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, or Computer Science equivalent.

Finance

Field: Accounting.

Socio Economic Transformation – Groenkloof

Fields: Environmental Education, Natural Sciences, or Social Sciences.

Socio Economic Transformation – Port Elizabeth

Fields: Social Sciences such as Anthropology, Sociology, Community Development, Environmental Management, Public Administration, Development Studies, or Heritage Studies.

Legal Services

Field: LLB.

Minimum Requirements

To apply, you must meet these basics:

  • South African citizen.
  • Aged 18 to 35 years.
  • Hold a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) from a South African school.
  • Currently unemployed.
  • Never done an internship before.

Required Documents

Submit these with your application:

  • Updated CV.
  • Certified copy of your ID.
  • Certified copy of your Matric certificate.
  • Academic qualifications and transcripts.

Foreign qualifications need evaluation from SAQA.

Important Notes

Apply online and by email. Incomplete applications get rejected. If you apply away from home, handle your own housing and travel. Only shortlisted people hear back. SANParks may choose not to fill spots.
