This role exists in our Sanlam Corporate Compliance function where we focus on the provision of assurance to the Sanlam Corporate Exco and Senior Management as well as within the Sanlam Group via various other functionaries. In this position you will work with the compliance officers in the team.
Position: Compliance Officer Intern
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with applicable legislation and internal requirements
- Research and gather information on new legislation
- Analyse proposed new legislation and provide input
- Review client facing documentation to ensure alignment with legislative requirements
- Present on legislative requirements and promote compliance culture
- Manage legislative training and testing as required in terms of e.g. FAIS & FICA
- Assist with reporting and resolution of breaches and other compliance and regulatory issues
- Assist in developing, promoting, implementing and maintaining compliance standards and procedures that
- enable employees to act in a compliant manner
- Assist with incident reporting, to ensure timeous escalation of compliance risks and incidents
Qualification:
- Relevant qualification as required for FAIS
- A Legal or Commercial degree will be advantageous
- Compliance Practitioner designation (CPrac)

- Computer literate in MS Office which includes Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
