An opportunity has arisen for an Intern: Company Secretary in the General Department.

The position is part of a team reporting to the Company Secretary/Legal Counsel and the successful applicant will fulfill the following primary responsibilities:

Job Specification

  • Assist and ensure that the Agency maintains a high standard of corporate governance and business ethics.
  • Support the Company Secretarial Office by ensuring that the Agency complies with relevant legislation, regulation, company policies and procedures with respect to:
  1. Write up and keep proper minutes of meetings as permanent records of resolutions and required actions
  2. Obtain declarations of interest and gifts from all management and keep it in a proper format for audit purposes
  3. Ensure that terms of references of meetings are reviewed
  4. Communicate corporate statutory information
  5. Assist with preparing the annual calendar for the Agency
  6. Conduct audits into the Agency’s governance committees
  7. Ensure that contracts are signed in line with the necessary Delegation of Authority

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law or CIS
  • Code 8 drivers licence
