Petroleum Agency SA Internship Application Details 2022/2023

Petroleum Agency SA is responsible for promoting and regulating the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas (petroleum) resources within the Republic both onshore and offshore on behalf of Government in terms of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act. There are ten (10) three year internship programs and two (2) permanent positions available. The Internship programme seeks to train the candidate for a term of 3 years.

Available opportunities:

Intern: Environmental Compliance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management or Environmental Sciences.

Intern: GIS Geoscientist 

  • BSc Degree in Geology of Geophysics and/or Geographic Information Systems.

Intern: Licensing & Legal Compliance

  • LLB

Intern: Geologist/Geoscientist

  • An Honours Degree in Geology or Geophysics emphasis on petroleum and or sedimentology would be an advantage.

Intern: Technical Compliance

  • Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering / Chemical / Mechanical.

Intern: IT Desktop Support Technician

  • IT related qualification or A+ and N+ or MCP

Intern: Financial Officer

  • A Bcom Degree or Diploma in Accounting

Intern: Corporate Governance 

  • LLB or CIS

Intern: Human Resource

  • Degree in Human Resources or equivalent
