  • Locations: Mafikeng, Brits WTW, Vaalkop WTW, and Padda Junction Projects
  • Department: Projects and Engineering
  • Qualifications: A minimum NQF Level 6 in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Number of Interns: 5
    These roles offer practical exposure to engineering projects, likely involving site work, project planning, and technical support within the water infrastructure domain.

GIS Internship

  • Location: Brits Lab
  • Department: Projects and Engineering – GIS
  • Qualifications: A minimum BSc in Geomatics or an equivalent qualification.
  • Number of Interns: 1
    This internship focuses on Geographic Information Systems, a critical field for managing spatial data related to water resources, infrastructure, and environmental monitoring.

Mechanical Engineering Internship

  • Location: Vaalkop WTW
  • Department: Water Services – Mechanical
  • Qualifications: A minimum S4 Mechanical Engineering, National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Number of Interns: 1
    Interns in this position will gain experience in the maintenance, operation, and technical aspects of mechanical systems within a water treatment works.

Water Services Production Internship

  • Location: Vaalkop WTW
  • Department: Water Services – Production
  • Qualifications: A National Diploma in Water Care, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Number of Interns: 1
    This role provides hands-on experience in the operational processes of water treatment and production, ensuring the delivery of safe and clean water.

ICT Internship

  • Locations: Brits Lab, Head Office, and Mafikeng/Far West
  • Department: Corporate Services – ICT Department
  • Qualifications: A minimum Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Number of Interns: 3
    These positions offer exposure to the technological backbone of Magalies Water, covering areas such as network management, system support, and IT project implementation.

Minimum Requirements for Applicants

To be considered for the Magalies Water Internship Programme, candidates must meet a set of essential criteria. These requirements ensure that applicants are eligible and well-suited for the opportunities provided.

  • Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old.
