Kairuki School of Nursing Admission 2023/2024  | The Kairuki School of Nursing (KSN) – Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU) school of nursing online application form, courses offered, programmes duration and entry requirements for the 2023/2024 academic year is out.

The management of the Kairuki School of Nursing (KSN) formally known as Mikocheni School of Nursing, affiliated to the Faculty of Nursing of Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU) and Kairuki Hospital has released the Kairuki School of Nursing admission form for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Applications are hereby invited for the following academic programmes:

  • DIPLOMA IN NURSING (NTA LEVEL 4-6) PRE- SERVICES PROGRAMME
  • DIPLOMA IN NURSING IN- SERVICE PROGRAMME (THROUGH E-LEARNING):
  • DIPLOMA IN NURSING IN- SERVICE PROGRAMME (CONVENTIONAL PROGRAMME):
  • APPLICANTS FOR DIPLOMA IN NURSING (PRE- SERVICE), DIPLOMA IN NURSING IN-SERVICE (E-LEARNING) AND CONVENTIONAL PROGRAMME

Kairuki School of Nursing (KSN)

The Kairuki School of Nursing (KSN) is owned by the Kairuki Health and Education Network (KHEN) incorporating the Kairuki Hospital and Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU). KHEN is a non-profit private company/company limited by guarantee.

The Kairuki School of Nursing (KSN) is an affiliate to the Faculty of Nursing of Hubert Kairuki Memorial University. The school is fully registered by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE). Applications for admission are invited from qualified candidates wishing to pursue various programmes at The Kairuki School of Nursing (KSN) for the academic year 2023/2024.

DIPLOMA IN NURSING (NTA LEVEL 4-6) PRE- SERVICES PROGRAMME

The Diploma in Nursing (NTA Level 4-6) Pre-service, is a programme that is meant to take students who have never attended nursing training before.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants, who are holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE), with four

(4) passes in non-religious subjects including a “D” passes in Chemistry and Biology; and “D” passes in Physics / Engineering Sciences

Pass in Basic Mathematics and English languages is an added advantage.

Duration of the programme: 3 years.

DIPLOMA IN NURSING IN- SERVICE PROGRAMME (THROUGH E-LEARNING):

KSN offers Diploma in Nursing in-service programme, through E-learning/ distance  learning. This method combines electronic learning using computers and face to face sessions. This approach allows nurses to remain at their work place for most of the study time and enables them to study at their own pace, with minimal disruption to their work schedules, taking into consideration the practical oriented nature of nursing and midwifery education.

The programme is meant for the Enrolled Nurses who want to upgrade themselves to Registered Nurses.

Candidates will be taken through two weeks of face to face and practicum sessions that will include basic computer skills at the beginning of each semester at KSN. The course is accredited by NACTE and approved by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).

Entry Requirements:

Holder of Technician Certificate (NTA level 5) in Nursing with “D” pass in Biology,  Chemistry or Physics (CSEE) for the graduates starting from 2010; OR Graduates before NTAs system should have certificate in Nursing and Midwifery/Public Health Nurse B and at least “D” Pass in any of science subject; AND Work experience of two (2) years and above.

Necessary attachments: Registration  and License  to practice  by TNMC, Technician Certificate and Transcript in the related field and Letter of permission from employer.

Duration of the programme: : 2 years.

DIPLOMA IN NURSING IN- SERVICE PROGRAMME (CONVENTIONAL PROGRAMME):

Entry requirements:

Holder of Technician Certificate (NTA level 5) in Nursing with “D” pass in Biology, Chemistry or Physics (CSEE) for the graduates starting from 2010; OR Graduates before NTAs system should have certificate in Nursing and Midwifery/Public Health Nurse B and at least “D” Pass in any of science subject; and work experience of two (2) years and above. Necessary Attachments: Register and License to practice by TNMC, Technician Certificate and Transcript in the related field and Letter of permission from employer.

Duration of the programme: One year

Mode of Application:

All applicants for all programmes offered by KSN are required to apply directly to Kairuki School of Nursing, with a non-refundable fee of Tshs. 50,000/= or USD 50.00 (for the international students), cash payments to the University Bursar or Tigo pesa, MPesa, Airtel Money. APPLICANTS FOR DIPLOMA IN NURSING (PRE- SERVICE), DIPLOMA IN NURSING IN-SERVICE (E-LEARNING) AND CONVENTIONAL PROGRAMME

Applicants for the Diploma in Nursing (Pre-Service) , in-service(e-learning ) and Certificate in Nursing programmes, are required to apply direct through the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) Central Admission System.
