Available Internship Fields

GEPF offers two main internship types. Each requires specific qualifications at NQF Level 7.

Finance Intern

You need a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or an Advanced Diploma in Accounting. Send your application to [email protected]. Use the subject line: “Application: Finance Intern”.

This role lets you work on financial tasks in a pension fund setting.

Risk Management Intern

Qualify with a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Risk Management or Internal Auditing. Email the same address with a clear subject line. You will handle risk assessment and auditing duties.

Both fields give direct experience in high-demand areas.

Minimum Requirements

To apply, meet these basics:

  • South African citizen aged 18 to 35.
  • Completed 3-year Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7).
  • At least 60% average for undergraduate, or 55% for postgraduate.
  • List your academic averages on your CV.

These rules ensure candidates are ready for the program.

Important Conditions

Not everyone qualifies. GEPF will not consider:

  • People with prior internships or work experience in the field.
  • Students still finishing their studies.

Preference goes to candidates with disabilities and those from previously disadvantaged schools. This helps promote fairness.

Required Documents

Submit these with your application:

  • CV (max 2 pages) with academic averages.
  • Certified ID copy.
  • Academic transcripts.
  • Certified qualification copies.

Keep files clear and complete to avoid rejection.

How to Apply

Email your full application to [email protected]. Match the subject line to the internship type, like “Application: Finance Intern”. Only shortlisted applicants hear back.

The process is straightforward if you follow the steps.

Important Notes

GEPF does not cover travel or lodging for interviews. Expect no feedback if not contacted within one month after 26 April 2026. Your application is then unsuccessful.

Why Choose GEPF Internship?

This program builds practical skills in finance and risk management. You learn pension fund operations and prepare for careers in accounting, auditing, or risk roles. It opens doors in the public sector.
