The primary goal of the program is to offer ICT graduates practical exposure in a professional corporate setting, allowing them to assist with user support and the maintenance of ICT systems.
Responsibilities and Exposure
Successful graduate trainees will be involved in a range of duties that offer broad exposure to IT operations. Key responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact for users needing IT assistance, administering and supporting approximately 90 end users, and handling hardware setup and support. Trainees will also monitor computer equipment inventory, support PCs, printers, wireless networks, switches, and cabling. Further duties involve software installation and support, including Windows 11, Windows Server, and Office 365 tools.
Additional responsibilities cover supporting SharePoint, Active Directory, and other business applications, as well as administering email and internet facilities. Ensuring adequate data backups, maintaining anti-virus procedures, and managing virus definition updates are also part of the role. Trainees will assist with administering new equipment, recording and escalating IT service interruptions, and participating in ICT projects. They will also provide weekly reports on incidents and problem management, offer basic end-user training, and help with administrative tasks. Participation in after-hours ICT activities, such as disaster recovery testing, is also expected.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for the ECIC ICT Graduate Trainee Programme, applicants must possess at least one of the following qualifications: a Diploma in Information Technology, an MCSE or equivalent qualification, an A+ certification, or an N+ certification. While not essential, an ITIL Foundation Certificate is considered a preference. These qualifications demonstrate a foundational understanding of IT principles and practices necessary for the role.
