DMPR Internships 2026: Opportunities for South African Graduates

Are you a recent graduate looking for hands-on experience in South Africa’s mining and petroleum sectors? The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR) Internships 2026 offer a great chance for unemployed South African graduates to build skills and boost their job prospects. This program runs for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 financial years and places interns in offices across the country.

About the DMPR Internship Programme

The DMPR runs this graduate internship to help young people gain real-world experience. It targets South African graduates who lack workplace exposure. The program welcomes people with disabilities and TVET college graduates. Interns will work in areas like mining laws, petroleum licensing, finance, and more. Note that interns must handle their own transport and accommodation.

Internship Stipend

Interns receive a monthly stipend based on their qualification level. Those with a diploma, degree, or honours get R7 860,50 per month. Master’s degree holders earn R9 482,00 per month. This support helps cover basic needs during the program.

Important General Requirements

Before applying, check these key rules. Use the new Z83 form from 01 January 2021. Attach a full CV with your application. Only shortlisted applicants submit certified copies of qualifications later. People who joined a government internship before cannot apply. If you need experiential training as a student, include a letter from your college or university. Apply separately for each post with its own Z83 form. Late or incomplete applications get rejected.
