We invite all suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following vacancy:
Position title: Intern (Product Department)
Fixed-term Contract (12 Months)
Role purpose
Perform tests and sampling according to a schedule of samples collected and submitted to the laboratory so that work is completed within required turnaround times.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform sample preparation for simple tests and conduct simple tests independently
- Handle sample storage after testing is completed
- Dispose of samples after testing is completed
- Improve laboratory efficiency by influencing capacity
- Ensure adherence to departmental turnaround times
- Early warnings to direct supervisor of any delays on turnaround times
- Cleaning and disinfecting of equipment
- Notifying management of calibration and service requests
- Ensuring all analysis and related tasks are performed in accordance with OHS and quality assurance policies and procedures
- Implement quality TAT corrective actions for area of responsibility
- Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing
- Build internal relations with core business units
Qualifications:
- National Diploma or Degree In Biotechnology/Microbiology/Veterinary Technology
Knowledge / Experience:
- No Previous Work Experience
