Scholarships are granted for development-related Master or doctoral studies for individuals who plan to pursue a career in teaching and / or research at a higher education institution in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarships 2024/25:
- Applicants must be a national of a Sub-Sahara African country
- Applicants must possess a relevant first academic degree if applying for a Master’s programme, or with a Master’s degree if applying for a doctoral programme.
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic and leadership abilities and must be willing to abide by the guidelines governing the conduct of students awarded DAAD scholarships.
