Interested applicants can apply for the Cricket South Africa Internship 2022 provided they qualify and meet the program requirements.

One role is available at each of Cricket South Africa’s franchises and one at the Head office (i.e. in total, 7 interns will be hired). Depending on the franchise at which you are placed, the description may have a slight emphasis on one or more of the elements.

What is expected of the intern in the 11 months (from Oct 2018 – Aug 2019) is the following:
- Social Media Accounts – compile regular posts on all platforms (one piece of content for multiple platforms); inspect comments; shares and interactions
- Content Creation – conduct interviews (telephonic and/or video); compile regular, relevant articles for the franchise (such as match reports, features, previews, press releases (Cricket/Organization-related)
- Media Centre – assist media with all enquiries on matchdays; liaise with relevant media managers regarding press conferences; print team sheets; assist with seating plan; print statistics packs
- Press conference – assist senior staff with planning press conference; help ensure order in and around venue (noise levels, personnel present etc); liaise with sound technicians, caterers and other technical support
- General – collect & analyse relevant media reports for your franchise & CSA; assist with franchise’s marketing & promotion efforts (printing flyers, setting up branding); assist senior staff with any media–related requests
*interns should only apply for roles at the franchise where they are able to live and work from.
Requirements:
The job requires a combination of the following skills:
- A passion and good knowledge of cricket
- Good writing skills – ability to use cricket jargon (linked to cricket knowledge)
- Ability to understand and effectively create content for and respond to engagements through different mediums (including social media, telephonically, written format, in-person interviews etc)
- Sound administrative capabilities (i.e. able to manage deadlines, prioritise work and manage projects)
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Creativity
