Are you 17 years and older with a passion for cooking? Enter our Chef Talent Scout Competition and stand the chance to win your share of bursaries to the value of R740 000 towards studying one of our internationally-recognised courses in 2021!
About the Competition
The winners of each campus will compete against one-another in a NATIONAL cook-off held at our Rosebank campus. The National finalists from areas outside of Gauteng will be sponsored to travel to Johannesburg for the final cook-off. In the final cook-off the finalists will be challenged by working with ingredients from a mystery basket and stand the chance to win a bursary worth R200,000 towards our three-year Advanced Culinary Arts Programme. The national cook-off will take place on Saturday – 6 February 2022.
Terms and Conditions
- Subject to 2022 programme fees announced in September 2020
- This competition is open for participants of the age of 17 (who will be 18 in the year of study) and older
- The recipient cannot currently work as a professional chef and cannot have ever worked as a professional chef.
- The recipient’s main source of income cannot come from preparing and cooking fresh food in a professional environment (restaurants, hotels, canteens, catering, etc).
- The recipient must be a South African citizen.
- The recipient of the bursary must be able to study in 2021. The bursary will not be carried over to the following year.
- This competition is closed to previous winners of The Chef Talent Scout competition
- The regional winner who wins the national competition will not receive the bursary for Professional Chef Programme/Professional Patisserie Programme but will win the 3-year Advanced Culinary Arts Programme.
- The bursary is for study only and excludes transport and accommodation.
- Must have completed Matric
- Relatives of Capsicum staff are NOT allowed to participate in this competition.
- This bursary is non-transferable.
