UDSM Fees Structure

Below are the official University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) Fees for 2024/2025 to be paid by each Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Degree, Bachelor, Certificate, Distance Education, Diploma, Short Course, and MBA programs student respectively for 2024/2025 academic

UDSM fees booklet covers tuition, course material, residential fees, accommodation fees, textbooks, account numbers, quotations, fee summaries, fee statements, examination fees, and other fees charged for 2024/2025.

The following policies and procedures apply to all students who officially register for programs at the University of Dar es Salaam. The Institute reserves the right to change fees without prior notice. However, fee changes are subject to approval by the Governing Council and we will update it ASAP.

UDSM Undergraduate Fees

At the beginning of the academic year, all students will be required to produce evidence of sponsorship by the Government or any other organizations, otherwise, they will be expected to pay full tuition and University fees (or the portion not covered by the sponsor) by the beginning of the term/semester before they can be permitted to use the University facilities.

All local payments for fees should be by Bankers Cheques payable to the Bursar, University of Dar es Salaam, or by other acceptable modes with approval of the Bursar. All payments must be receipted. The following Table depicts Tuition Fees for Tanzanian and Non-Tanzanian Nationals:

Clarification on Research Funds:

  1. For Master Programmes, the amount shown is paid once.
  2. For Ph.D. by Coursework and Dissertation, the amount shown is paid in the third or fourth year of study during the research phase.
  3. For a Ph.D. by thesis, the amount shown covers three years of study.

NB: The tuition fee for each program has been indicated in the respective academic unit offering that program. It is also worth noting that Short-Term and Occasional Students shall pay their fees pro rata, per what is prescribed for regular postgraduate students
