TotalEnergies is offering exciting apprenticeship opportunities for South African youth in Durban for 2026. These programs target young people interested in engineering and maintenance careers. The Millwright and Instrument Mechanician apprenticeships provide hands-on training at the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant.

Available Apprenticeships

TotalEnergies has two main apprenticeships open.

Millwright Apprenticeship

This program teaches mechanical and electrical maintenance in an industrial plant. Apprentices learn to fix and maintain equipment in a busy setting. It builds skills for real-world engineering jobs.

Instrument Mechanician Apprenticeship

This one covers instrumentation, control systems, and plant operations in manufacturing. Trainees work with tools that monitor and control factory processes. It prepares you for roles in modern industrial environments.

About the Apprenticeship Programme

Candidates placed at the Durban Lubricants Manufacturing Plant get structured workplace training. They work with experienced teams on daily tasks. The program mixes theory classes with practical work, including logbooks and assessments. This setup helps build strong skills for long-term careers.

Key Responsibilities

Apprentices handle several important duties. They follow health, safety, and environmental standards at all times. They wear proper personal protective equipment and assist with plant maintenance. Trainees attend sessions, complete assessments, and keep work areas clean. They report hazards, fill out timesheets and logbooks, and may work overtime or shifts.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, you need a Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science. An N3, N4, N5, or N6 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic fields also works. Less than three years of experience is required.

Additional Requirements

Be physically fit for the job. You must be okay working at heights, like on tanks and platforms. Comfort in confined spaces, such as inside tanks, is needed. The industrial environment means handling noise, heat, and heavy work.
