Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Fire Fighter Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have completed Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Must provide proof of completion of a Fire Fighter Level 1 course.
  • Must be medically, physically, and mentally fit.
  • Must have no criminal record.
  • Must reside within the Stellenbosch Municipal Area and remain a resident throughout the employment period.

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Ability to communicate in at least two official Western Cape languages (English, Afrikaans, isiXhosa).

  • No mental phobias associated with confined spaces, heights, deep water, blood, darkness, isolation, or corpses.

A valid Code B driver’s licence will be considered an added advantage.
