Shoprite Bursaries 2026: Apply Now for Retail and Supply Chain Studies

Shoprite invites South African students to apply for the Shoprite Bursaries 2026. This programme helps students in key fields for retail and supply chain jobs. Applications close on 31 May 2026.

About the Shoprite Bursary Programme

The Shoprite Group started this bursary to build skills in its workforce. Shoprite began in 1979 and now runs Africa’s largest retail network with thousands of stores in many countries. The bursary targets students who can help the company grow in the future.

Fields Covered

Shoprite offers bursaries in these study areas:

  • Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA) with 10 bursaries available.
  • Biological & Agricultural Sciences with 10 bursaries.
  • Retail Business Management with 60 bursaries.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics with 10 bursaries.

Each field matches needs in retail operations and support areas.

Bursary Value

The bursary pays for tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, and an accommodation allowance. The total value ranges from R30 000 to R60 000 per year. This amount depends on the course and the student’s institution.

Work-Back Obligation

Bursary holders must work for Shoprite Group after their studies. They owe one year of work for each year they receive funding. This helps the company get skilled employees directly from its programme.
