Resonance Programme 2026: A Gateway for Nigerian Artists
The Resonance Programme 2026 is an exciting opportunity for visual artists, designers, and curators living in Nigeria. This fully-funded residency offers a chance to develop professional practices, expand networks, and engage in creative research. Co-constructed by ART X Lagos, the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, and the Embassy of France in Nigeria, the program aims to support the Nigerian art scene by fostering international connections and providing valuable resources.
Understanding the Resonance Programme
The Resonance Programme, initiated in 2020, was expanded in 2025 to include visual artists, designers, and curators based in Nigeria. It is a three-month residency designed to facilitate mobility and support the professional growth of individuals within Nigeria’s vibrant art community. The program provides a structured environment for artists to connect with mentors and engage with a global network.
What the Residency Offers
Selected participants in the Resonance Programme will receive a comprehensive package of benefits. This includes dedicated support and discussions focused on their artistic, curatorial, or design practices with a professional based in France. The Cité internationale des arts will organize visits and networking opportunities to help residents build connections within the international art world.
Residents will be provided with a live-in studio at the Cité internationale des arts’ Marais site. A monthly living allowance of 1,200 euros is also provided to help cover daily expenses. Travel fees to and from Paris are covered, though artists are responsible for their visa and insurance costs.
