New Heritage Baptist Church, located in Shomolu, is an esteemed member of the Nigerian Baptist Convention. In alignment with its commitment to corporate social responsibility, the Church established a merit-based scholarship scheme in 2015. The primary objective of this initiative is to foster a culture of academic excellence among Nigerian students enrolled in tertiary institutions.
Scholarship Overview:
The scholarship program, administered annually, seeks to recognize and support deserving students from three tertiary institutions situated within the vicinity of the church. These institutions include:
– University of Lagos
– Yaba College of Technology
– Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, including its University of Benin satellite campus.
Eligibility Criteria:
– Applicants must fulfill the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship:
– Enrollment as a current student at the University of Lagos, Yaba College of Technology, or Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka – including its University of Benin satellite campus.
– Completion of at least one academic session.
– Attainment of a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a scale of 5.0 or its equivalent.
