Joburg City Theatres is opening doors for young South Africans with its Internship Programme 2026. This chance gives hands-on experience in customer service and IT at top theatre spots in Johannesburg. Programme Overview

The Joburg City Theatres Internship Programme runs for up to 24 months. It helps unemployed youth move from school to real jobs in arts, customer service, and IT. Interns earn a stipend of R6,094 per month with no extra benefits.

Positions are at Soweto Theatre in Jabulani and Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein. The programme ends applications on 24 April 2026. It targets South African citizens living in Johannesburg who have not done a similar internship before.

Available Positions

Joburg City Theatres offers two main internship spots.

Customer Services Intern

This role is at Soweto Theatre with reference number CS/ST/04/2026. You will handle customer questions by phone, email, or in person. Other tasks include logging complaints, updating CRM records, making reports, and joining training.

It suits people with studies in Public Administration, Office Administration, or Business Administration. A Grade 12 certificate and computer skills like MS Office are needed.

Information Technology Intern

There are two spots at Joburg Theatre with reference IT/JT/04/2026. Duties cover fixing computer problems, installing software, helping with accounts and passwords, and checking IT gear. You will also support staff with tech issues.

Ideal for those with diplomas in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Systems Support. Grade 12 and basic computer skills are required.

Minimum Requirements

All applicants must be South African, aged 18 to 35, and live in Johannesburg. You need a Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) and computer literacy. For customer service, add a diploma in Public Administration or similar. IT roles need a diploma in IT or related fields.

Submit certified ID, qualifications (copies not older than 3 months), CV, and cover letter. First-time interns only.
