Haw & Inglis Bursary Application Details 2022-2023
Each year, Haw & Inglis award bursaries to deserving students within the Civil and Building industry. For the 2022 academic year, H&I bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study.
Fields of study
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Building
Bursaries are awarded according to academic merit and the requirements of the various universities & university of technologies. Final selection will be determined by the H&I internal committee. Bursary funds are paid directly to the tertiary institution.
Requirements
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be currently in Matric OR must have completed Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying towards an Undergraduate qualification in one of the aforementioned fields (postgraduate qualifications are NOT funded)
- You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised accredited tertiary University or University of Technology in South Africa
- Current Matric students: you must achieve a minimum “C” symbol or 60% for Mathematics and Physical Science on your Matric certificate
- Current tertiary students: you must have a good academic record AND have passed all previous subjects/ modules
Applicants must also possess the following personal attributes:
- You must love the outdoors
- You must be willing and able to work in rural areas
- You must be interested in the building construction and civil industry
- You must have strong leadership skills
- You must have good communication skills
- You must take initiative
