This internship programme has a duration of 24 months. All internships will be based at the Department of Transport’s Head Office in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. For the provincial Public Transport and Town Planning internships, opportunities are available in each of the nine South African provinces.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Department of Transport Graduate Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must have completed a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field as specified for each internship post.
  • Must not have previously participated in an internship programme.
  • Appointments are subject to verification of qualifications, previous experience, citizenship, references, and security vetting.
  • Applicants applying for more than one field must submit a separate Z83 application for each.
