Craib family scholarship: Student Bursary Application Details 2022-2023
Description
This scholarship is for Botany studies at Rhodes University, related to the protection of indigenous plants, has been established through the generous support from the Craib Family ScholarshipTrust. For prospective Honours students, information on the Botany Honours programme can be accessed on the Botany Department’s website. Prospective MSc and PhD students should consult academic staff in the department about their proposed research projects ‐ information on areas of expertise, ongoing research and academic staff in the Botany Department can also be found on the Botany Department’s website
Eligibility:
- Full‐time, in attendance
- Honours, Masters or PhD
- Academic merit
- Financial need in the event of equal academic merit
Tenure:
- One year(Honours);
- funding for up to two years (MSc) and
- three years (PhD) subject to excellent progress.
Value:
- R50 000 Honours;
- R90 000 MSc;
- R120 000 Ph
Please provide the following (as there is no application form to complete):
- Academic CV
- Certified copies of academic transcripts
- Motivation/Essay not exceeding 300 words explaining your proposed area of research and how it relates to the protection of indigenous plants
- A letter of support from you prospective supervisor (or current supervisor if already registered for the degree the funding is intended to support)
