The purpose of this position is to support the Communications Department at AHRI and SANTHE specifically with their design and multimedia related work. We are looking for someone with strong design, multimedia, story-telling and written communication skills. Our ideal candidate will be curious about the world and interested in scientific research and its power for change. We are also looking for someone who is a team player and is not afraid to pitch in and get their hands dirty. Getting the job done might involve carrying boxes, sticking 1000 pieces of confetti on 100 invites \u2013 while blowing up balloons. Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

- Undergraduate degree in brand communication, graphic design, visual communication or a closely related field<\/li>\n
- No previous work experience is required for this position, but a strong portfolio and evidence of initiative regarding freelance or part-time work in visual and\/or written communication will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Advantagious:<\/strong><\/p>\n

- Matric level physical science and biology is an advantage<\/li>\n
- Previous experience working in SharePoint is an advantage<\/li>\n
- Previous experience using a CMS is an advantage<\/li>\n
- A driver\u2019s license is an advantage<\/li>\n
- An interest in or demonstrated experience of Science Communication is an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Skills and abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

- Advanced competency in In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro (or similar)<\/li>\n
- Visual literacy<\/li>\n
- Strong storytelling and research skills<\/li>\n
- Photography skills<\/li>\n
- Video skills (from concept to filming to editing and post production)<\/li>\n
- Strong spoken and written English ability<\/li>\n
- Ability to take initiative and work independently<\/li>\n
